Theatre Alberta - Artstrek 2008 Location: 11759 Groat Road Edmonton, Alberta Starts at: 12:00 AM Ends at: 12:00 AM This is an all day event Description: Artstrek is a theatre school like no other â€” a residential summer theatre program for teens that has been running in the province of Alberta since 1959. The script is Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. The program, which takes place each summer on the campus of Red Deer College, is about the exploration of theatre and the components of theatre production rather than getting a show on stage. Over the course of a week, participants explore acting, voice, movement sound/music and directing with some of Alberta's finest theatre professionals. Theatre Alberta is a Provincial Arts Service Organization (PASO) committed to encouraging the growth of theatre in Alberta. We offer a wide range of programs and services to drama students, professional theatre artists, educators, and enthusiasts, as well as to schools, post-secondary institutions, and community and professional theatres.
