Join Outdoor Photography Canada Magazine contributing editor and professional photographer Paul Burwell for a many-faceted workshop that will help immerse you into the world of Adobe's Photoshop Elements software. Photoshop Elements is an affordable alternative to the professional version of Photoshop CS5 and is able to perform virtually every task the average photographer requires when editing their digital photographs. We'll spend the entire weekend together helping you learn about developing a work flow in Photoshop Elements that will take you from importing your photographs from your camera, to processing them to look their best and then finally to outputting them for email, the web or print. This workshop allows you to have hands-on practice with my images, along with your own. You'll learn how to optimize your images to make them look their best, process large collections of images and learn the techniques you'll need to find those images in the future. Additionally we'll discuss best-practice techniques for ensuring that your image collection sticks around and survives a hard drive crash or other calamity. This workshop is targeted towards photographers with a beginner to intermediary level of experience with Photoshop Elements. You will need to bring a computer (Mac or Windows, Laptop or Desktop) loaded with the latest edition of Adobe Photoshop Elements Software (Version 3.2). (If you don't wish to purchase the latest edition, you may install the free trial version of the software just before the start of the workshop available directly from Adobe).
